To separate the soy milk from the soy pulp (okara), place a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a large bowl. Pour the blended mixture into the strainer. Use a spatula to press down the mixture to extract as much liquid as possible, leaving the okara behind. You can save the okara for other recipes or discard it.

Step 4: Cook the Soy Milk

Transfer the strained soy milk to a pot and heat it over medium heat. Stir the mixture frequently to prevent sticking and burning. Once it starts to simmer, add sugar and salt and stir until dissolved. For added flavor, you can also add a few pandan leaves or a splash of vanilla extract during this stage.
