How to Make a Thai Roselle Spritz

Thai Roselle Spritz is a refreshing and vibrant beverage that showcases the unique flavors of Roselle, a plant native to Southeast Asia. This invigorating drink is perfect for hot days and is easy to make at home. Follow this simple recipe to whip up your own Thai Roselle Spritz.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried Roselle flowers
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 lime (juiced)
  • Club soda or sparkling water
  • Lime slices, for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Start by making the Roselle tea. In a pot, combine 1 cup of dried Roselle flowers and 4 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

Step 2: Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes. The water will turn a beautiful deep red color as the flavors infuse.

Step 3: After simmering, remove the pot from heat and let it cool. Once cooled, strain the liquid to remove the Roselle flowers and transfer the tea to a pitcher.

Step 4: Stir in 1/4 cup of sugar (or more, depending on your taste) and the juice of 1 lime. Mix well until the sugar is completely dissolved. You can adjust the sweetness and acidity to your preference.

Step 5: To serve, fill a glass with ice. Pour in the prepared Roselle tea until the glass is about two-thirds full.

Step 6: Top off the glass with club soda or sparkling water for that effervescent touch. Gently stir to combine the ingredients.

Step 7: Garnish with lime slices and a few fresh mint leaves for an aromatic finish. Enjoy your Thai Roselle Spritz immediately!

Tips for the Perfect Thai Roselle Spritz

  • You can substitute sugar with honey or a sugar alternative for a healthier option.
  • Add a splash of vodka or gin if you want to make it an alcoholic spritz.
  • Experiment with additional flavors like ginger or lemongrass for a unique twist.

Whether you're hosting a summer barbecue or enjoying a quiet afternoon at home, the Thai Roselle Spritz is a delightful and exotic way to refresh yourself. Its beautiful color and unique taste make it a standout addition to your beverage repertoire. Cheers!
